Chillar Party – Movie Review – Good time pass

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Just finished watching Chillar Party.

Chillar Party is a children’s movie made just for kids. I am quite sure old people will find this movie boring, but if you are young at heart, you might enjoy it.

Chillar Party is the story about how the kids in a colony get together to fight a battle against all odds in saving a dog that belongs to their friend. They battle it out with a minister to save the dog and finally win.

The movie gets more and more exciting as each scene progresses, maintaining the funny side to it from start to finish. The way in which the kids talk and maintain the momentum in the movie is amazing. In every scene, the director has made sure there is a message that teaches good things to kids.

Sura Movie – Total waste of time

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Watched the movie Sura and could not control myself from writing about it.

Vijay reminded me of MGR in a lot of ways – trying to leverage every single dialogue as a message to the public that he will protect them and do good for them. Even though Vijay is trying all this, I do not know of anyone having such a success as MGR had.

Vamsam – Boring Movie

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Vamsam is a movie that starts with a few people getting killed, continues with more people getting killed and ends with a lot of people getting killed.

The movie stars Arulnidhi, grandson of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.Karunanidhi. Arulnidhi’s father, M.K.Thamizharasu is the youngest son of the chief minister and is also the producer of this movie.

If you do not have much time, I recommend not wasting time reading this blog post, as it is about a boring movie.

Angaadi Theru – Movie Review

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

Just watched Angaadi Theru. Angaadi Theru is a movie about the life of a young guy who comes to Chennai hoping for a better future, but goes through many hurdles along the way.

The beauty of the movie is the simplicity with which the movie depicts the difficulties that Ling (the hero) and Kani (the heroine) go through. Do not get confused on whether these are Chinese names, but these names are short forms of their original names.

Ling is the short form of Jyothi Lingam, a guy who comes from a small village near Tirunelveli.

Boss (A) Baskaran – Movie Review

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Went to Big Cinemas last night to watch Boss Engira Baskaran movie. This movie supposedly has Arya and Nayanthara in the lead role, but I would say Santhanam plays the lead role in this movie.

The story goes this way. Oh wait, there is no story, so the movie goes this way. There is one guy Arya, who is jobless and has a dont care attitude – just like our Ranbir Kapoor in Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Dhanush in Polladhavan and many more heroes who have been used for executing this age old formula. (May be I should start naming these formulas and see which movie fits into which formula 🙂 ). The movie has too many scenes focusing on the fact that Arya is jobless and careless guy – Hello Director, Mr.Rajesh, we get it – next time please (if there is one), please try to cut the number of times you try to help us understand old formulas.
