Just got a chance to watch Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge again – thanks to Netflix!

It brought back the good old memories of Raj – Simran. The chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in this movie has been appreciated as one of the best in recent times. Only today did I realize that this movie was taken in 1995 and it is fifteen years since, and we can still enjoy the songs in the movie, each one of which is a hit in itself.

Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam…

Ruk Jaa o dil diwane…poochoon tho main zara…Ladki hai yaa hai jaadoo..

Each one is a beauty in itself.

Amrish Puri comes as Kajol’s strict dad, who wants to get his daughter married to his childhood buddy’s son in Punjab. As it turns out, Kajol finds the guy of her dreams.

The scene in Europe where they miss the train and then get to know each other well has become like a template which has been copied over and over again in so many movies.

One thing that surprised me was when I realized Karan Johar comes in this movie as Shah Rukh’s friend. It was so funny to see this kid, the typical producer’s son, show up in a movie in a side role.

Overall this movie is quite a memorable one.
