Got a chance to watch the Endhiran music launch on SunTV. This launch happened at Malaysia and as it happened to be backed by Sun Networks, there was a full blown marketing effort from Sun Networks to show this launch more than once on the channels in their network.
The rumour is that this is a 10 year dream project, which Shankar, the director, had in his mind, but did not execute it earlier as the technology and the team was not ready. On hearing this, it immediately reminded me of similar comments made by James Cameron about Avatar. It will be interesting to see how Endhiran comes out to be!
Another rumour that is floating around is that about 200 crores of Rupees was spent on the movie. About 10 years ago, I have heard Shankar state that we can take movies just like or better than the Hollywood movies if the funding for the movie was adequate. I guess now he has got a chance to spend the amount he wanted and it is time to see how the returns are.
It was a star studded launch and I noticed Kalanidhi Maran also present during the launch, which was the first time that I have noticed him in the fore front, though all of us know he is the brain behind many big businesses that he owns.
Aishwarya Rai forgot to speak about Rajinikanth initially and as always tried to give her own reasons for the same.
I did see the trailer shown during this launch and my first reaction was that I was not very impressed with what I saw. Being a die hard Rajinikanth fan, I might see the movie once, but Aishwarya Rai’s presence in the movie might distract me from watching it again, unless our Super Star weaves his magic once again 🙂
Time to wait and see.
