Arvind Kejriwal is the latest entrant into the list of politicians in India, but definitely deserves a lot of attention due to the efforts he is taking to make India better.

Arvind Kejriwal is an ex-IAS officer, who gave up his job as he did not agree with the way the country was being run. He began to actively work on helping the Indian government frame the Right To Information Act of 2005 and has been actively encouraging the common public also to make best use of it. (Please visit http://righttoinformation.org to see more details about this initiative).

In the past two years, Arvind Kejriwal has become quite active in Team Anna, trying to encourage members of civil society into getting together to root out corruption from India. After almost two years of working with Anna Hazare, he has now started his own party called ‘Aam Aadmi Party’, which is planning to contest in the next elections. One of their promises is that if they are elected to power, within six months of getting elected, they will bring all corrupt politicians to justice. This is in fact a very bold statement and is in line with all the bold statements Arvind has been making recently.

Arvind Kejriwal is one of the few politicians in India, who is not a son of a politician and that adds a lot of credibility given that there is a lot of bad publicity around sons and daughters of politicians in India.

One thing is for sure, whether Aam Aadmi Party prevails and actually succeeds in the forth coming elections in 2014 or not, Arvind Kejriwal has been instrumental in kindling the thoughts in common man that politics is just not for people with politicians in their family already. He is also gaining a lot of attention in social media circles, where comparisons are made with Rahul Gandhi on whether Arvind or Rahul will be a better candidate to be the next Prime Minister of India.

Hats off to Arvind Kejriwal on all the tasks he is doing and I wish him good luck in his endeavors.
